Blink-182 has unveiled two fresh tracks from their highly anticipated album, One More Time.
While the album's namesake track tugs at the heartstrings with its emotional depth, "More Than You Know" slaps back to the band's signature vibe.
The new songs follow their previously released single "Edging" from last year and are part of the 17-song setlist for One More Time. This is Blink-182's first album featuring Tom DeLonge since 2011 and set to be released October 20th.
DeLonge, who parted ways with Blink-182 in 2015, had expressed to Zane Lowe that he had doubts about ever making a musical comeback. During his hiatus, he delved deep into the world of UFOs with his To The Stars Academy of Arts and Sciences. This endeavor seems more interesting with this year's public government discussions on UFOs hinting at the possible recovery of nonhuman remains from a crash site.
However, it was a personal moment that led DeLonge back to the band. He shared with Lowe that learning about Mark Hoppus' cancer diagnosis in 2021 was a turning point.
"When he told me he was sick, that was the gnarliest. It was like nothing matters really," said DeLonge. "For me it was always heavy on my heart that our friendship wasn't mended. All of us have lived through tragedies now that tear apart places in your heart and you've got to mend them back together and figure out how to be a better version of yourself."
With DeLonge's return and the forthcoming album, it seems Blink-182 is all set for a great end to 2023.
